About National Domestic Violence Hotline

The National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline) established in 1996, serves those impacted by relationship abuse in the U.S. 24/7 with free and confidential live services provided via phone, chat, and text. The Hotline envisions a world where all relationships are positive, healthy, and free from violence.

When you reach out to us you will talk with one our friendly and supportive peers or volunteers who are experienced in how to help people in your situation. They will listen to you, unpack your story and feelings, and work with you to help you through your challenges. Anyone can contact us, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity or religious beliefs. We are always open. You can contact us for free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
